All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star Wednesday, 10 August 2005 RUBY LEE [SMITH] McCLELLAN Funeral services for Ruby Lee McClellan, 88, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2005 at the Ninnekah Baptist Church. Ruby Lee McClellan was born May 19, 1917 in Fleetwood, Oklahoma to Loss Smith and Pearl Mae (Allred) Smith. She went to be with Jesus on Monday, August 8, 2005 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. At age 11, she and her family moved to Grady County where she lived in the Agawam and Ninnekah areas. It was there she met Robert Lee ‘Bob’ McClellan. They were married on September 22, 1934 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, celebrating almost 62 years of marriage. Ruby was a member of the Ninnekah Baptist Church were she worked in the church nursery for over 30 years, believing this was the place God would have her serve. She loved the children and they loved her. She was a quiet woman, content to be a housewife and mother, and served faithfully alongside her husband, fulfilling the Lord’s command to be a helpmate to him. They propably were never considered ‘prosperous’ in the eyes of the world, but God has already said “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee McClellan, on September 3, 1996, her mother in 1918, and infant sister, Ella Mae, and her father and stepmotherm Loss and Grace Smith. Also a grandson, Gaylon Willie McClellan in 1978, a great grandchild, Jalen Wyatt, and a daughter- in-law, Jean McClellan, in December 2004, and 2 brothers Garland Smith and Aubrey C. Smith (killed in World War II). She is survived by two sons, Bobby McClellan of Alex, Oklahoma and Bry McClellan and wife, Becky, of Chickasha, Oklahoma and two daughters, Peggy Sayers and husband, Gary, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma, and LaVelle Thomas and husband Bill, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and a sister, Mollie Boothe and husband, Preston, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Other survivors are five grandsons and three granddaughters, nine great grandsons and four great granddaughters and nine great great granddaughters and one great great grandson; grandsons, Waylon McClellan and wife, Hope, and there two sons, Kaden and Landon, of Norman, Oklahoma; Chad McClellan and wife, Stephanie, and their son, Samuel, of Oklahoma City; Dr. Scott Newbrough and wife, Lisa, and daughter, Callie, of Knoxville, Tennessee; David Thomas of Chickasha and his two sons, Dr. Darren Thomas and wife, Dr. Yvan Thomas, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Kory Thomas of Chickasha; Rick Thomas and wife, Sherrie, of Chickasha and Rick’s three sons, Clint Thomas and wife, Melissa, and their four daughters, Victoria, Hannah, Abigail and Caroline of Lovettsville, Virginia; Jason Thomas and wife, Jennifer, and their daughter Brooke, of Ashburn, Virginia; and Douglas Thomas of Burke, Virginia. Granddaughters - Desirae Nixon and husband, Todd, and their daughter, Abigail, of Edmond, Oklahoma; Amanda Newbrough of Chickasha; Gaynelle Wyatt and husband, Larry, of Chickasha and their three children, Timothy Wyatt and wife, Brandy, and their children, Jordan, Kobie and Katen of Rush Springs, Oklahoma; Geni Stockholm and husband, Zack, of Denver, Colorado; and Maria Koehler and husband, Tony, and their two children, Phoebe Rogers and Katie Koehler.
