Service was to be at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Ringling with Bro. Jimmy Morris officiating. Burial was to be in Ringling Cemetery under the direction of Spivey’s Reser Funeral Home of Ringling. Mr. Paul was born Sept. 5, 1963, in Ardmore, to Bob and Glenda Jane Jennings Paul. He married Karen Hammons Acox in 1987, in Gainesville, Texas. Mr. Paul attended schools at Cartersville, Ga., Comanche, Pernell, Fox, and finished school at Ringling. He made a living as an iron worker and in the oilfield. Jim and his wife moved to California in 1992 while he was working for Nabors Drilling Co. and Parker Drilling Co. In 1995, he moved with Nabors Drilling Co. to Soldotna, Ala., to work in Prudohoe Bay on the North Slope. They moved to Victoria in 1998 and Jim worked for Parker Drilling Co. in Columbia, South America. In 2000, he went to work for Doyon Drilling as a rig supervisor in Alpine Field, Alaska, on the North Slope. Survivors include his wife of the home; four sons, James and Lane Paul, of the home, Ronnie Acox II of Ringling, and Jereme Starke of Taft, Calif.; his parents, Bob and Linda Weeaks Paul of Ringling; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Doug Hayes of Washington, and Sandra and Jay Herrington of Ringling; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Henry and Shelley Paul of Bakersfield, Calif., and Patrick Paul of Wilson; his grandmother, Louise Thomas Paul of Wynnewood; his grandfather, Bob Weeaks of Duncan; a special aunt, Paula Jennings Standefer of Soldotna; two grandsons, Nazerth and Kalob Acox; and many close relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Jennings Paul in 1967; an uncle, Jim Paul; grandfather and grandmother, Harold and Willie Jennings; grandfather, Fay Paul; and a brother, Scott Leslie Paul.
