All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery--Bakersfield CA Charles Aldon Reed 1934 - 2005 Charles Aldon Reed Dec. 2, 1934 Dec. 3, 2005 Services: Fri., Dec. 16, 2:00 p.m. On December 3, 2005, Dad took Gods hand and stepped into eternity. He was born December 2, 1934, in Sugden, Oklahoma to Charles and Inez (Weatherly)Reed. As a child the family moved and relocated to Bakersfield, California. During his teen years, the family then moved to Nipomo where he attended Arroyo Grande High School until his enlistment in the U.S. Navy. Enlisting from 1951-1955, he served aboard the USS St. Paul in the Korean War. Upon his return he settled in Santa Maria, marrying his sweetheart, Florine (Silva) Reed. He apprenticed under Les Ferarri Paints, and was a journeyman painter working forty years in the business. He worked abroad for three years in Jakarta, Indonesia for the oil industry. Upon his return he settled in Bakersfield. He was active in many groups and clubs, including: American Legion, Post 682, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Elks Lodge 1538. He enjoyed a very large family of friends, participating in many trips and activities. Among his hobbies he enjoyed; golfing, hunting, camping, fishing, barbecuing, cooking, and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles L. Reed and Inez Elliott. He is survived by daughters, Elaine June, Coleen Nunes, and Rhonda Bracamonte; siblings, Phyllis (Chuck) Mackey, Pat (Jim) Muffie, Gary Reed, Larry Reed, Gerald (Donna) Reed, Dixie Reddige, Diana Strange, Michael Richardson and Kenny Richardson; five grandchildren, three great- grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held Friday, December 16, 2005, 2:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Bakersfield, California.
