Tapp Charles J. Tapp, 66, of Waurika died Thursday, March 13, 2003 in Waurika. Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. Charles was born on Dec. 16, 1936, in McAlester, to Robert Allen and Muriel Alice Hamilton Tapp. He grew up in Little Rock, Ark., and then later moved back to McAlester where he graduated from McAlester High School. He was a member of the United States Army and later served in the National Guard from March 29, 1954, to February 16, 1963, where he received an honorable discharge. He married Janice Houston in 1958 in Waurika. She preceded him in death on Dec. 28, 1999. He graduated college with a degree in Art. He was a member of Trinity Holiness Church in Waurika. Survivors include a son, Ivan Tapp of Waurika; two daughters, Tammy VanScoy of Duncan and Dana Burton and her husband, Bobby, of Waurika; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
