Copying of the files within by non-commercial individuals and libraries is encouraged. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Lillye May Nall Taylor Funeral for Mrs. Clifford (Lillye May) Taylor, 78, well-known Waurika resident, who died Friday, December 17 (1976), at Jefferson County Hospital, was held Sunday afternoon at the First United Methodist Church, Waurika. Officiating was Rev. John Reskovac of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Lawton. Burial was in Waurika Cemetery under direction of Worley Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Kenneth Eck, Joe B. Cogdell, I. B. Cogdell, Ernie Drowatzky, Joe B. Cogdell, Jr., all nephews of Mrs. Taylor, and C. D. Snider, Jr. Lillye May Nall was born October 7, 1898, in Honey Grove, Texas. She came to Indian Territory, Oklahoma, with her parents, E. E. and Frances Josephine Sevier Nall, in 1906. They settled in Waurika where the Nalls operated the Nall-Stuard Hotel, a Waurika landmark, for many years. She graduated from Waurika High School in 1917 and later operated an abstracting business for several years. She was married to R. Clifford Taylor in Waurika, October 6, 1940. They became co-owners with the Grundy family of the City Drug Store. In December 1947 they moved to Healdton where they operated the Taylor Drug and Pharmacy until their retirement in 1959. The couple returned to Waurika in 1961. Mr. Taylor died February 20, 1968. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the United Methodist Church of Waurika. She is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Josephine Cogdell, Altus; and Mrs. Edwina Brandon, Lawton; one brother, Henry B. Nall, of Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews.
