Mary Ruth Whitecotton

MORTON - Mary Ruth Whitecotton, 79, died Friday, June 13, 1997.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Assembly of God with the Rev. 
Henry Russell of Assembly of God in Floydada, and the Rev. Jimmy Beggs of 
Assembly of God in Morton, officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday in 
Terral Cemetery at Terral, Okla., with the Rev. Charles Parker of Assembly 
of God, officiating. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home of Morton.

Mrs. Whitecotton was born in Jefferson County, Okla. She was an 
eighthgrade school teacher. She taught math in Morton for 35 years in 
Neely Ward School, five miles west of Morton, now consolidated into 
Morton.

She also taught for seven years in Jefferson County, Okla. She had retired 
in 1988. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.

She married Ernest Whitecotton in 1951 at Nocona. They had lived in Morton 
since 1951, moving from Jefferson County, Okla.

Survivors include her husband; and several nieces and nephews.
