"Pat" Winkle, 68, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Southern Baptist Church with the Rev. Darrell Trout and the Rev. D.C. Lindley officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Garden at Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Winkle was born in Waurika, Okla. She had been a resident of Borger since 1949. She worked at Phillips Petroleum from 1977 to 1999. Mrs. Winkle was a member of the Jane Phillips Society and had served as president, vice president and treasurer for the chapter. She also served on the grand council as national treasurer and was elected National Jane of the Year in 1988. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church. She married O.L. Winkle in 1949 at Pampa. She was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Gene Winkle, in 1998. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Danny Winkle and David Winkle, both of Borger; a brother, Marcus Owen Fimple of Waco; a sister, Juanita Maude Fimple of Borger; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, 800 N. Sumner, Pampa, TX 79065. The family will be at 220 Buffalo Trail.
