This information taken from a journal belonging to Daisy A. Stilley, born
Nov. 28, 1893, died May 26, 1960. (daughter of Nancy Ann Pursley
Stilley). Nancy Ann lived the last 38 years of her life in Mannsville,
Johnston Co., OK. She passed away Feb. 10, 1928 and is buried in
Mannsville Cemetery. Nancy Ann's husband was Alfred Cast Stilley. The
following is typed exactly as written in Daisy's hand.

Mrs. Nancy Ann Stilley born at Catoosie Springs, Georgia, Whitefield
County, September 5, 1857. Grandparents on mother's side, Hannah and Joel
Longley. Home in edge of Catoosie Springs, 7 miles from Ringgold,
Georgia. Full blood English.

Grandparents on Pursley side was Nancy Pursley. Grandfather Pursley was
full blood Irish.

Grandmother Longley's name was Beaudine (Bodine). The Longleys' came from
Virginia to Georgia. From England they went to Virginia.

The Pursleys' came from Ireland to South Carolina thence to Georgia.
Uncles of Nancy Ann Pursley (Stilley) were Thomas Pursley (a Baptist
Preacher), Bill Pursley, John Pursley. Jim (James Guion) her father's
name. James Pursley, father of Nancy Ann Pursley (Stilley) is buried at
Daugherty, Oklahoma. He served in the army (Civil War). He was in the
siege of Vicksburg, Mississippi, 30 days and nights. James Pursley lived
8 or 9 miles south of Chickamauga. When Nancy Ann was 13 the Pursley
family, James Pursley, his children and second wife, Susan Kirkpatrick
started with three other families to the west-Kansas - but stopped in
Knoxville, Arkansas (called Maysville). The families were Joe Lowe, John
Gant, Joe Bridges stopped in Independence County while just the Pursleys'
came on to Knoxville, a 6 weeks ride, but Sundays were days of rest. Some
had oxen trains, the Pursleys' drove a span of mules.

Longley uncles were Bill Longley, Young Longley.

Pursleys' lived near Catoosie Springs, Georgia. Hannah Longley was the
mother of Nancy Ann Pursley. She had married James Pursley and had three
children, Sarah Elizabeth Pursley, Joel Thomas Pursley, Nancy Ann
Pursley. Their mother died during the last year of Civil War while they
were living just across the line of Georgia in Tennessee, but she was
buried at the Old Salem Baptist Church in Georgia. The Burkes her
relatives lived in Tennessee. The burial grounds were near Sid Williams,
a rich planter, a spring nearby and the church and cemetery upon hill.
Joe Longley buried there.

Pursley cousins of Nancy Ann were Jack and Ben Pursley, Jud, James
Spencer (a Dr.) in time of war (sons of Tom Pursley).

Nancy Matlock was a sister of James Pursley. They came to Texas during
the early days. Sallie (Sarah) Pursley married a Dugan and moved to
Tennessee. An older sister married a Napier and moved to Missouri.
