Arnold, of Mill Creek, was in Tishomingo Monday. J. T. Dickerson was here from Wapanucka Monday. J. M. Dillingham was in the city from Mill Creek Monday. Joe Ratliff was a business visitor to the city Tuesday. Ed Sacre, of Okeland, is here on the jury. Linn Williams was here from Madill Wednesday. Lee Davis was a business visitor to the city from Madill Monday. W. J. Shelton, formerly of this place, but now of Emet, was on our streets Tuesday. Dr. Sturdivant, postmaster of Mill Creek, was in Tishomingo Sunday. Dr. W. S. Webster, mayor of Ravia, was on our streets Monday. W. C. Wagoner, postmaster of Egypt, was in the city Monday. R. D. McDougall and Lute Johnson, bailiffs, are in attendance upon court. F. M. Morley, formerly of this place but now of Mill Creek, was a business visitor to the city Monday. M. F. Burton was here from Mill Creek this week and had The News sent to him at Purcell, his future home. Frank R. deCordovia, in company with his son William F., is here from Collinsville, Texas, on a visit to see his father, W. F. deCordovia. B. G. Jones, T. J. Green and Rev. C. H. Holland left Monday for Muskogee at attend a meeting of the Sovereign Camp of the Woodmen of the World. Rev. Sam G. Thomason, presiding elder of McAlester District, will arrive Saturday and will hold quarterly conference at the Methodist Church Saturday night. Patten, clerk of the constitutional convention, retuned from Guthrie Saturday. J. W. Chapman made a business trip to Ardmore Wednesday. George W. Edwards, a prominent citizen of Ravia, was a Tishomingo visitor Saturday. Harry L. Person has a neat resident under construction in the east part of the city, Attorney J. W. Harreld was in the city from Ardmore Wednesday. Ben Colbert made a business trip to Marietta first of the week. Pete Foly has become a fixture. He returned to his home in Parson, Kansas, over Sunday and was back Tuesday morning. H. D. Johnson, who has been serving on the jury, left Wednesday for his home at Commerville. Attorney W. H. Walker was attending to legal business in Muskogee latter part of last week and first of this. Rev. Father Walbrat, of Ardmore, will come over Monday, March 25, and will hold mass at the home of Ben Colbert Tuesday morning at 7:30 o'clock. Q. D. Gibbs, editor of the Mill Creek Times, in company with his little son, was in the city Tuesday and while here made the News a pleasant call. Rev. J. W. Head has been doing manual labor around the Methodist Church this week. From the way he handled that hoe it looked as though he was not afraid of work. W. H. Murray, president of the constitutional convention, returned Saturday from Guthrie. He will remain here till April when he will return to Guthrie to finish up the work of the convention. W. W. Melton announces for re-election to the office of city marshal. Mr. Melton is well known. He has given entire satisfaction as nearly as is possible for an officer to do. He is strictly sober and makes a pleasant officer. Give him your consideration before you cast your ballot. In this issue of the News appears the announcement of W. M. Miller for the office of city marshal for the ensuing year. Mr. Miller is well known here and hence needs no introduction at our hand. He has been tried before in the office he is now seeking, and we ask that you consider his claims before casting your vote. The young people of Tishomingo attended a St. Patrick ball at Milburn last Tuesday evening. They report a good time and are under lasting obligations to the reception committee. HILL'S BUSINESS COLLEGE Miss Viola Wilson accepted a position last week with the Bradstreet Commercial Agency in Oklahoma City. This firm employs ten or fifteen stenographers and she has a fine place to advance. J. F. Alexander accepted a position with the Chairman of the Republican Committee. He received $7.50 a week for one half days work and is putting the other half day in finishing up his schooling. We received a letter from Miss Anna Day one of our former students who is now at Muskogee, I. T., where she has a position with the Indian Agency, paying her $3.00 per day and she expects to receive $3.50 per day in a short time. We have placed about twenty students at that point and they all receive a salary of $3.00 a day to start with. We received a letter from Louis Wheeler at Shreveport, Louisiana. He is with a large lumber firm at that point making $100. per month with promise of still better promotion. We received a letter from Harold Ferguson at New Orleans, Louisiana, saying that he had a position paying him one hundred dollars a month. He went direct from school into this position. They started him at $75.00 a month and raised him to $100.00 in two months. He handles Loose Leaf Ledger System and is highly complimented by his employers for his excellent system of accounts. Grandma Kisor of this place has gone to Fort Worth, where she will reside for a few months. Mancil Rushing is on the sick list this week. Mr. Lidsey made a flying trip to Madill Thursday. Mrs. Burney of Texas is visiting relatives at this place. A. P. Kirkwood made a business trip to Madill Saturday. Ide, of St. Paul, Minnesota, is in the city the guest of his son, Walter Ide. L. W. Cass, of Cope, has been here this week on business with the U. S. District Court. Miss Melville Aker, of Prinction, Kentucky, is the guest of her aunt, Mrs. J. T. Young. Albert Rennie, of Pauls Valley, attended court here Wednesday. Judge J. T. Fowler, of Wapanuck, was in the city on legal business Wednesday. Attorney W. I. Cruce, of Ardmore, is in attendance upon court here this week. Hon. James E. Humphrey, assistant prosecuting attorney of Ardmore, is in attendance upon court here this week. Ernest Williams and wife, of Ardmore, are attending the Bunch trial here this week, in which Mr. Williams is a witness. C. Lincoln McGuire, a prominent Republican of Ardmore was in Tishomingo Tuesday on business. R. C. Guptill, one of Ravia's progressive citizens, was in attendance upon court here Tuesday. While here he made the News a pleasant call. Dr. B. B. Pettit, who has an extensive practice throughout the south and whose notoriety has grown out of his successful practice, returned to Tishomingo Tuesday for a few days rest. The doctor is looking well and seems to be in good spirits. Ed Greer, our prominent blacksmith of this city, will go in business at the Gorden stand on Main Street. Ed is attending court, and will not be ready for business till after court adjourns. W. H. Walker writes all kinds of insurance for the farmer. THE BUNCH TRIAL C. C. Bunch of this city is under trial this week for the killing of A. J. Milburn of Milburn about two years ago. The jury in the case consists of the following: W. C. Hooser, age 35, merchant; H. C Williams, age 44, farmer; C. C. Chesnut, age 37, merchant and ginner; J. F. Williams, age 59, Accountan C. N.: J. H. Anderson, age 38, banker; J. A. Hendrix, age 28 farmer; W. W. Wallace, age 62, hotel keeper; J. W. Sparlin, age 57, farmer and stockman; M. R. Frett, age 27, farmer; J. W. Bailey, age 46, merchant; H. E. Balay, age 53, drayman; F. B. Dudley, age 48, farmer. FISHING PARTY Quite a crowd of young people took an outing on the river Wednesday evening for he purpose of making war on the finny tribe. All report a most enjoyable time, and each returned home ever to hold fond recollections of what they had seen and enjoyed. Those in attendance were: Misses Aker, Van Noy, Bailey, Smith, Harris, McLaughlin, Mrs. Erdworm, Mrs. Hutchens; Messrs. J. C. Roan, G. F. Lefler, Mart Miller, Tom Miller, A. G. Summerfield, Dr. Britton, Dr. Bolte, Hugh Hutchens, Mr. Conklin. HILL'S BUSINESS COLLEGE A. M. Heins has a fine position in the post office department at New Orleans, Louisiana. He is receiving a salary of $1,800. per year. Frank B. Clark has a splendid position as Chief Clerk for Assistant General freight Agent, M.P.R.R., St Louis, Missouri. F. E. Loges say he has the best position in Oklahoma, with the Boardman Land & Loan Co., Okeene, Oklahoma. He thanks us for getting him this position. V. W. McBride has a fine position with the Southern Pac. R. R. at Reno, Nevada, and gives our school credit for the training to enable him to hold it. Barnes Shrewsbury has a $75.00 position with the Frisco R.R. at Chaffee, Missouri. He said that there was another position just like his paying $75.00 which he wanted us to fill, but we had no one to send.
