G. Murphy died. Mr. Murphy came to the state about seven years ago from Texas. He was a successful farmer and one of the county's most useful citizens. He leaves a wife and several grown children to mourn their loss. Oscar Davenport spent Christmas day in Sulphur. NOTICE OF PETITION FOR PROBABE OF WILL In the County court for Johnston County, state of Oklahoma, at Tishomingo before Hon. Nicholas Wolfe, judge of said court. Notice is hereby given that the will of Lila Colbert, deceased, has been filed for probate in the above entitled court, and that J. L. Neely has filed a petition for issuance to him of letters testamentary on said will, and further that the 6th day of January 1908 has been fixed as the date for the hearing of said will and considering said application for the issuance of letters testamentary. All person interested are required to appear at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m. of said date or the court room of said court, at Tishomingo, in Johnston County, and show cause, if any they have, in opposition to the proof of said will and the issuance of said letters. WARNING ORDER In the district court of Johnston County, for the 7th Judicial District, of the state of Oklahoma Myrtle Chaddick, plaintiff Vs J. C. Chaddick, defendant To. J. C. Chaddick, the above named defendant, you are hereby notified that petition has been filed in this court by Myrtle Chaddick as plaintiff against you as defendant on the 24th day of December, 1907, praying for divorce from the bonds of matrimony existing between you and said plaintiff and she be restored to all the rights of an unmarried woman and you are hereby warned to appear in this court and answer the petition filed by the plaintiff not later than the 4th day of February, 1908, or the petition will be taken as true and judgment will be rendered accordingly granting to the plaintiff a divorce from the bonds of matrimony existing between you and the plaintiff and restoring said plaintiff to all the rights of an unmarried woman. LOCAL NEWS Misses Ervin and Ryan, two of the city's popular teachers, are spending the holidays with their home folks in Sherman. S. R. Bennett of Mill Creek is the guest of his brother, J. C. Bennett and family. Miss Juanita Johnston, who is attending Hollins Institute in Virginia, is spending the holidays with her parents, Gov. and Mrs. D. H. Johnston at Emet. Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Teter entertained at cards Monday evening. At the close of the game a delightful menu was served. H. F. Calfee and family of Roff spent Christmas day with J. W. Chapman and family. W. G. and C. H. Halmark of Fisher County, Texas, are visiting their daughter and sister, Mrs. D. P. Wheeler. Born, Tuesday to Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Powers, a fine boy. Prof. and Mrs. J. G. Buchanan visited friends in Texas this week. C. E. Naylor returned Tuesday morning from Wanette, Pauls Valley and other points where he had been as auditor for the Carey-Lombard Co. Attorney G. F. Lefler is visiting his father, Hon. M. B. Lefler and family in Soctland, Arkansas. Mr. and Mrs. Shimer Boyd or Ardmore were the guests of Mrs. Boyd's parents, Gov. and Mrs. R. M. Harris, during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Benge spent the holidays in Texas. LOCAL NEWS Miss Blanche Fisher who is attending the Conservatory of Music, St. Louis is at home for the holidays. Robert Muldrow, who is an attachÈ of the Dawes Commission, Cherokee Division, at Muskogee, spent Christmas day with his uncle, H. L. Muldrow, and family. I have at my place near town, a large quantity of wood and am prepared to serve you on your short notice. Any length; reasonable prices. Will have 'phone next week, George Kingsberry. R. H. Vaughter and J. H. Simerly of Connerville were in town yesterday and paid the Democrat a pleasant call. At the election for school directors Saturday, W. W. Hedges, B. T. Monk. J. T. Sadler and J. L. Ledgerwood were elected. Mrs. John Shores of Bentonvill, Arkansas, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. W. W. Hedges. R. D. McManus, private secretary to Speaker Murray, was in town yesterday a few minutes.
