All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Ryan Cemetery--Jefferson OK Lawton Constitution 2 & 3 Jan 2005 Carl Henry Besherse RINGLING Funeral for Carl Henry Besherse, 93, Ringling, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Loco, with the Rev. Randy Southerland and the Rev. Bill Ellis officiating. Mr. Besherse died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at his home. Burial will be at Ryan Cemetery under direction of Alexander Funeral Home, Ardmore. Mr. Besherse was born May 5, 1911, in Tishomingo to Henry Hershel and Hepsybaugh Allen Besherse. He moved as a young child from Tishomingo to the family farm south of Claypool. He married Minnie Lee Grubbs on Sept. 16, 1933, in Waurika. She died Feb. 27, 1980. They lived on the family farm until 1941 when they moved to Loco where he farmed and pumped. He was a pumper for Frank Gouin Sr. and Junior Gouin, Sam and Kenneth Faizen and Cal Smith. He retired at the age of 79, but continued to pump his own lease until one year ago. He married Roberta Bonnie Warthen Coyle on Apirl 27, 1990. He was a member of Loco First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon from 1952- 1980. He served as the church treasurer for 25 years, as Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher and many other positions. He was mayor of Loco for many years. Survivors include his wife, of the home; twin daughters and their husbands, Maxi Ruth and Bill Tenovir, Geronimo; and Minnie Ruth and Travis Carr, Fremont, Calif; a sister, Idella Wood, Gordonville, Texas; a brother, Johnny Besherse, Sherman, Texas; three grandchildren: Kenneth Carr, Stephen and Haiqi and Julie Tenovir; and a great-grandson, Gavin Tang Carr. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Freida Besherse, Leola Jeter and Mallie McKay; two brothers: Haskell and Hazel Besherse.
