All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** DODSON -- Almanita "Nita", 84, in the presence of her loving family went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 17, 2006, at her home in Sarcoxie, MO. She was born September 11, 1922, in Milburn, OK, to W.W. and Lola Dale Raper. After graduation from Tishimingo High School, she moved to Tulsa and worked at McDonnell Douglas during WWII; she was one of the original "Rosie the Riveters". She attended Cosmetology School in Tulsa and studied under many well known national hair stylists such as Vidal Sassoon in California. She and 2 other women invented and produced a nail hardening agent, "Point Ten" shipping it all over the U.S. and later selling the patent to Revlon. She was a Hairstylist for over 50 years with a loyal clientele. Nita was a long standing member of Sheridan Road Baptist Church and later a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Tulsa. She was well known for her love of cooking; being an excellent seamstress and having a creative talent for decorating. She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, James Neal Raper and Wilson M. "Son" Raper; sisters, Loretha Vanola Raper and Wilma Sue Haley. Almanita is survived by: 2 daughters, Nita Kaye Spencer and husband, Roger of Tulsa, Linda Sue McDonald and husband, Jim of Sarcoxie; 4 grandchildren, Laura Brooke Snyder and husband, Steve, Shannon Lynn Ledbetter, Clint Nicholas Robson and wife, Rachel, Jarrod Lee Robson; 1 great-grandson, Collin Spencer Snyder; 2 brothers, Willard Wayne "Dub" and Jackie Raper, Tom and Karen Raper; 4 sisters, Billie Patterson, La Homajo and Ellis James, Bobbie and Meredith "Pig" Bynum and Ruth Marland Plaster; 28 nieces and nephews; 62 great-nieces and nephews; and countless friends, who loved her very much. A Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, September 21, 2006, in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow, OK. Interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
