Jackie was born in Milburn, Okla., on Feb. 10, 1928, to Omer and Jewel Goodman. She was the firstborn of seven. She moved at age 15 from Oklahoma to Moorpark in 1943. A few years later, she met and married Donald Williams. Jackie was always a lover of the outdoors and she quickly became involved in every aspect of ranch life, including helping to run the huge Williams apricot ranch in Moorpark. She could drive a tractor, ride horses, hunt, build fences and care for all the livestock as well as any man. After living in Moorpark for many years, she moved with her family to a gun club in Wagon Wheel where she not only helped run the club but also became an expert in clay target and skeet shooting. She won many trophies and was Western women's champion. Jackie later remarried and moved to Winston, Ore., in 1981. There she joined in many activities and had a wonderful circle of friends. Being with friends, gardening and feeding the wild turkeys that came on the property were highlights in her life. Jackie loved to sing, especially gospel, and had a beautiful voice. Her smile was warm and lovely and her laughter contagious. She loved the Lord and was a devoted Christian who embraced life, had a true caring spirit and gave all she was able to give in every circumstance. In the past few years, even though her health was worsening, she never forgot an anniversary or birthday. She always took the time and regard to make people feel special. Her whole life was devoted to her family. She was truly a remarkable woman and one of a kind. As much as she was loved, she will be missed. We little knew that morning thatGod was going to call your name.In life we loved you dearly,In death we do the same.It broke our hearts to lose you,You did not go alone,For part of us went with you,the day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories,Your love is still our guide,And though we cannot see you,You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken,And nothing seems the same,But as God calls us one by one,The chain will link again.- author unknown. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Omer and Jewel Goodman; sister Sue Bauer; and brothers Dwain and Larry Goodman. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Miller of Camarillo; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Lisa Williams of Ozark, Ala.; grandchildren, Jarod and Jennifer Miller, Steven Tyler and April Rene Williams; sister and brother-in-law Wyva and Bill Martin of Santa Paula; brother and sister-in-law Leroy and Gwyn Goodman of Somis; brother Buddy Goodman of Coalinga, Calif.; husband Richard Hendricks of Winston, Ore.; and many, many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her dearly. Family, music and friends continued to give her joy and comfort in her long struggle with Parkinson's disease. Our sweet Jackie is now singing with the angels. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in her honor be sent to The National Parkinson's Foundation Inc., Mary Ann Sprinkle, director of development, 1501 NW Ninth Ave., Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494.
