::Englewood Cemetery--??

P.C. Kitchens

SLATON - P.C. Kitchens, 86, of the Posey community, died Saturday, 
Oct. 23, 1999, in Lubbock.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Englunds Funeral Service 
Chapel with the Rev. Paul Jantzen officiating and the Rev. John Pratt 
assisting. Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery.

Mr. Kitchens was born in Ravia, Okla., and moved to the Posey 
community in 1936 from Stratford, Okla. Until his retirement in 1977, 
he was a cotton farmer in the Slaton and Posey areas. He was a Sunday 
school teacher, deacon of the Assembly of God, past democratic 
chairman of precinct No. 35, and had served on the Posey School 
board.

He married Myrtle Townsend in 1933 at Pontotoc, Okla. She died in 
1993.

Survivors include two sons, Paul D. Kitchens and Dale Kitchens, both 
of Slaton; a daughter, Dorothy Morton of Plainview; six 
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Trinity Church, 7002 Canton Ave., 
Lubbock, TX 79413.
