All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Emet Cemetery--Emet OK Durant Daily Democrat 19 Feb 2005 Merlin Lawrence 'Mutt' Rogers Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2005, at Emet Cemetery in Emet, Oklahoma, for Merlin Lawrence "Mutt" Rogers who passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2005, in Sherman, Texas. Mutt was born on December 30, 1920, in Emet, Oklahoma, to Lawrence William and Eula Faye (Raper) Rogers. He was married to Sylvia Murleen Doss on June 9, 1946. They were married for 29 years before she preceded him in death in 1976. Mutt grew up, lived most of his life, and retired at Emet. Those years he lived elsewhere his heart remained at Emet where he loved to go for walks on his land to see what may have changed from the day before. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Murleen; four sisters Lorena Snowder, Vera Darby, Vivan Cantrelle, and Oletta Hinerman; two brothers Edgle Rogers and Thurman Rogers. He is survived by his children Fern McKee and husband Richard of Davis, Oklahoma; Larry Rogers of Durant, Oklahoma; Jan Brown and husband Mark of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren Kim (McKee) Budish and husband Brad of Gainesville, Texas; Richie McKee and wife Brooke of Nocona, Texas; Michael Rogers and wife Tamra of Bokchito, Oklahoma; Tracy Rogers of Durant; Jennifer Brown of Spring, Texas; Elizabeth Brown of Durant; four great grandchildren Shae Budish, Davis Rogers, Madisyn Rogers, and Anthony Rogers; numerous nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers are Buster Davidson and Wallace Branch.
