Mrs. Scott was born June 23, 1936, in Bromide, the daughter of Reuben Benjamin Simpson and Christine (Johnson) Simpson. She served in the Army in California during 1954-55, and married Delbert Wayne Scott in 1957. She was a real estate broker for 38 years and a land developer. She was President of the Norman Board of Realtors in 1974, has been on the NBR -- AMLS Boards of Directors, and was a committee chairman for Education, Legislative, -- Professional Standards. She was the Dean of the Realtors Institute in 1979, a member of the OAR Education Committee from 1977-1979, and a member of the OAR Long Range Planning Committee in 1980. She owned Academic Realty, Inc. and loved her work. She was brilliant at writing lengthy legal descriptions and simplifying complicated real estate transactions. She was a strong believer that any real estate detail could be resolved. She loved dogs, showed English bull dogs, and was active in the American/Oklahoma City kennel clubs. She enjoyed cooking big meals at Christmas, having family reunions, picking up pecans from her trees, and admiring her peonies. She never ran late, other people just started too early. She collected everything. Finding a "deal" at a garage sale or at Big Lots just made her day. Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband; mother; father; an infant brother, Bobby Lyndel Simpson; and 2 sisters, Kathy York and Sharley Dabney. She is survived by a daughter, Deborah (Geannie) Wurst and husband, Everett; grandson, Jeremy Scott; brother, Boyd Simpson and wife, Dorothy; father-in-law, Fred Scott; very special brothers-in-law, Ronnie York and Clarence Dabney Jr.; and other relatives and dear friends.
