Copying of the files within by non-commercial individuals and libraries is encouraged. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- STROHFIELD Edward E., 84, was born February 10, 1910 at Sapulpa, Ok. and died January 11, 1995 in OKC, Ok. In 1939, Ed began his trucking experience with Riss & Co. in Denver, Co. as an over-the-road driver. In 1942, he became the Western area Vice- President for Riss & Co. In 1958, he moved to his farm at Billings, Mo. for eight years and then returned to Oklahoma City to work with Leeway Motor Freight. He joined American Farm Lines in 1967 as Manager of the Government Division. Ed was one of the pioneers of the trucking industry in Oklahoma and the American Trucking Association in Washington, D.C. He retired in 1975 and was a member of South Lindsay Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-nine years, Elma May Strohfield. He is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Margaret of the home; son, Robert L. Strohfield of Parsons, Ks.; daughters, Patsy J. Henderson of Pierre, S.D., Sue S. Higgins of OKC, Anne S. Begg of Coos Bay, Or. and stepdaughter, Cynthia C. Anderson of Wapanucka, Ok.; sister, Edna Ebert of Springfield, Mo.; eleven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be made to South Lindsay Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 1995. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 1995 at South Lindsay Baptist Church in OKC.
