Graveside services were held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 29, 1999. A memorial has been established with Hospice of Ponca City. Fredrick was born November 21, 1911 in Renfrow, Oklahoma, to Herman and Lena (Kash) Fredrick. He grew up in Renfrow, attending schools there. Following his schooling he worked on the family farm. On August 7, 1936 he married Leota Murrey and they moved to Denora, Pennsylvania where he worked for the local smelter. He entered the U.S. Army on October 29, 1943, serving as a medical corpsman during World War II. Following his discharge on January 23, 1946, they moved to Blackwell where he began working for Blackwell Zinc Company, working there until 1974 when he retired. He also worked as a carpenter and mason. His wife preceded him in death on May 26, 1975 and he married Geraldine (Tyler) McNamara on December 30, 1982 in Blackwell. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Blackwell Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Fredrick, Blackwell; three step-daughters, Becky Hawkins, Cindy Ball and Marilyn Sisney, all of Blackwell; six step-sons, Macky McNamara, Ottawa, Kansas, Bruce, Craig, Danny, Mark and Mike McNamara, all of Blackwell; one sister, Rose Dice, Joplin, Missouri; two nephews, Don Merhoff, Blackwell, Phillip Clements, Derby, Kansas; one niece, Evelyn Hauf, Arizona; twenty one step grandchildren, twenty three step great grandchildren and 2 step great great grandchildren.
