(Staatsberger)Begley Audrey E. Begley, Ponca City resident, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Via Christi Oklahoma Regional Medical Center. She was 71. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at the Trout Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. John J. Michalicka, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Audrey was born on March 13, 1931 in Newark, N.J., to John and Ethel Hada Staatsberger. She was raised in New Jersey, attended and graduated from schools there. She married James A. Begley Jr. at St. Rose of Lima in Newark on Jan. 21, 1950. The couple spent a short time in New Jersey before moving to Houston in 1961. They moved to Ponca City in 1966 where Audrey was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, crosswords, cooking, traveling, and was active in Meals On Wheels. She is survived by her husband, James of the home; two sons, James Begley III and partner Deedee Gregoire of Bastrop, Texas, and Matthew Begley and partner Brenda Bryant of Grand Rapids, Mich.; five daughters, Audrey "Andi" Loudermilk of Camby, Ind., Christine Schiltz and husband Patrick of Ponca City, Patricia Palmer and husband Kurt of Ponca City, Kathleen Medvedoff and husband Steve of Santa Maria, Calif., and Laura Wedd and husband Dennis of Ponca City; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Judith Chymiy of Newton, N.J. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one grandson, and her stepfather, Edmund Berry. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1818, Memphis, Tenn. 38101 or to Hospice of Ponca City, 1904 N. Union, Suite 103, Ponca City, Okla. 74601. Casket bearers will be grandsons, Ben Palmer, Jim Begley, Jonathan Begley, Charlie Schiltz, and Jeremy Begley. Honorary casket bearers will be Dennis Wedd, Kurt Palmer, Patrick Schiltz and Steve Medvedoff.
