Baker Lenora Ethel Baker died early Sunday April 27, 2003, at the age of 75, in the Jane Phillips Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday in the First Baptist Church at Copan, with Rev. Willard Lyons officiating. Interment will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery at Caney, Kansas under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home. A memorial has been established and those who wish to make a contribution in memory of Mrs. Baker may do so to the Jane Phillips Hospice 219 N. Virginia Avenue Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74003. Mrs. Baker was born October 3, 1927 at Blackwell, Oklahoma to Clarence and Goldie (Trotter) Craig. She moved to Copan, Oklahoma at the age of three with her parents, two half-sisters Faye Thompson and Dorothy Putnam and a half-brother Daniel Trotter. Mrs. Baker attended Copan Public School and Lincoln High in Los Angeles. Through the years she held various jobs including elevator operator for Phillips Petroleum Company and Hunt Medical Arts Buildings in Tulsa. She also worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone, A C.N.A. for Jane Phillips Hospital and a private duty caregiver before retiring at the age of 72. Mrs. Baker was a member of the Copan First Baptist Church for forty-nine years. Mrs. Baker is survived by three sons Tommy Joe Morris of Vinita, Oklahoma, Stanley Dean Morris of Fortville, Indiana and Raycee Lindley Baker of Caney, Kansas; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great- grandchildren and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother, her son Richard Beams, Sr., her husband Clyde D.
