Wn N Brown a pioneer citizen and business man of Tonkawa died at his home Sunday Morning. He had worked late Saturday night at his place of business and apparently in good health until Sunday morning he complained of violent pain in his stomach. Physicians were summonded but he died before any relief could be administered. Funeral held at Baptist Church Thursday afternoon. Business houses closed out of respect. Obit next week. OBITUARY-TONKAWA NEWS FEB 27 1921 Wn N Brown was born february 14, 1854 in warren Co, Tennessee. While but a child with his parents he moved to Illinois where he grew to manhood. From there he moved to Clearfield, Iowa, where on July 4 1876 he was married to Ella Tillier. To them were born two children, Lillie, who is Mrs Hardin of Aberdeen, Iowa (South Dakota) and Ora Brown of Chickasha, Okla. He lost his wife 10 May 1896. Came to Tonkawa in 1898 where he since resided. He was again joined in marriage to Miss Pearl Ora West on December 19, 1900. To the union were three children, Roy, Dortha and Donald, who with Lillie and Ora, survive him. He was a First degree Mason and a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF). He was converted and united with the Baptist Church at Clearfield, Iowa 33 years ago and a member of Tonkawa Baptist Church at the time of his death. He leaves behind a wife, five children, one sister, Mrs Julia Smith of Braman, OK, a brother, Clark brown of Avoca, IA, with a host of friends. Funeral was held Thursday afternoon at the Baptist Church, conducted by Rev Hoover. Burial in the IOOF cemetery.
