Funeral services were held February 7, 2003 at the First Christian Church in Blackwell with Rev. Jeff Koch officiating. Burial followed in the Blackwell Cemetery. Clifford Earl Radcliff was born on July 13, 1912, in Blackwell to Fred M. and Idella (Boyce) Radcliff. He grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell public schools. Following his education he began working in the ice plant and drove a taxi cab. He also worked in the C. C. Camp and on various farms in rural Kay County, including the Goodson Ranch southeast of Blackwell. He married Mabel Duncan on April 21, 1937, in Newkirk, and they settled in Blackwell. In 1942, he began working for the Blackwell Zinc Company and worked there for 30 years. During this time he was also active in the Boy Scouts of America. He also worked as a Blackwell Police Reserve for 16 years and was a volunteer fireman for five years. He was very active in the Blackwell Senior Citizens Center and faithfully drove the van for their various activities. After 64 years of marriage, his wife preceded him in death on Dec. 21, 2001, and he continued to make Blackwell his home. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Blackwell where he served as a deacon and elder for many years. He also held membership in the I.O.O.F. Lodge and the Chikaskia Lodge #109 which he served as worshipful master. He was a 25-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served the organization as worthy patron. Survivors include a brother, Thurman Radcliff of Blackwell, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Leonard, Dan and Loris; and five sisters, Viola, Bessie, Pearl, Goldie and Delores. Honorary casketbearers were David Schlecht, Tom L. Reed and Ernest E. Evans. Casketbearers were the Chikaskia Lodge #109 who also administered the Masonic graveside rites. A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church, 306 E.
