He was 65. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, in the chapel of the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Odd Fellows Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Shamburger, minister of education and missions of First Baptist Church, officiating. Local arrangements were under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. Charles Wray Dickson was born Dec. 9, 1936, in Ponca City, the son of the late Everett Wray and Ruby Claire Johnson Dickson. He was married on Nov. 17, 1957, to his faithful wife of over 44 years, Betty Jo. Mr. Dickson was a graduate of Oklahoma State University and was a proud supporter and advocate of the OSU Alumni. He owned and operated Consolidated Vending in Mooresville, N.C. He attended Central Church of God. Mr. Dickson had a love for water activities, especially boating and fishing, and had received his captain's license, certified by the U.S. Coast Guard. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Dickson of the home, three sons, Chuck Dickson, Mike Dickson and his wife Cora, and Mark Dickson and his wife Tammy, all of Mooresville, one brother, Robert Dickson of Lewisville, N.C., an aunt, Virginia Hutchinson of Yuma, Ariz, and six grandchildren, Kirsten, Katelyn, Ruby, Monica, John-Charles, and Justin.
