Holder COFFEYVILLE, Kan. - Clay R. Holder, father of Steve Holder of Ponca City, died Saturday, July 13, 1996 at his home, Route 4, Coffeyville, Kan. He was 66. Funeral service for Mr. Holder will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Graves Funeral Home Chapel in Coffeyville with the Rev. John Seitz officiating. Burial will be in Lake Creek Cemetery in Bartlett, Kan. Clay R. Holder was born July 10, 1930 in Coffeyville, Kan., the son of George Richard and Jenny Lynn (Bridgess) Holder. He grew up and attended schools in Coffeyville, where he lived all of his life. He entered the U.S. Army and served in Korea. He was discharged as a sergeant. Mr. Holder worked at Farmland Industries as a refinery truck driver for 41 years, retiring July 30, 1992. He and Mayola Louise Dousette were married Feb. 7, 1956 at Nowata, Okla. Mr. Holder was a member of the Westside Christian Church in Coffeyville. His hobby was fishing. Surviving are his wife of the home; two sons, Steve of Ponca City and Kenneth of Moore, Okla.; a daughter, Linda (Holder) Hines of Pamona, Calif.; one brother, Harold of Lawrence, Kan.; two sisters, Lola Fox of Claremore, and Mary Titus of Rose Hill, Kan.; also six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Don, and two sisters, Edith Brakhage and Roberta Morris. Memorials may be made in Mr. Holder's name to Hospice, Inc. through the funeral home in Coffeyville.
