Day Virgil Leroy Day, 73, of Yuba City died June 13, 2006, at Boomtown Hotel in Verdi, Nev. Born in Eddy, Okla., he was a Yuba-Sutter resident since 1968. He worked for Sherman William Paints in Yuba City for 20 years. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, the Loyal Order of Moose No. 1204 and the Knights of Columbus Council 5978, all in Yuba City. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years during both the Korean and Vietnam wars. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy A. Day of Yuba City; a son, David Day of Atascadero; a daughter, Bonnie Williams of Yuba City; four brothers, Manuel Day of Navarre, Fla., Jimmy Day of La Cross, Kan., Glen Day of Medford, Ore., and John Day of Sutton, Alaska; four sisters, Shirley Pfeifer of Olivehurst, Geneva Baxter and Bonnie Vargas, both of Elk Heart, Kan., and Mary Jo Rick of Kirksville, Mo.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son Donald Day; a sister, Barbara Wares; and a brother, Archie Day. Donations may be made to the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1204, 205 Walton Ave., Yuba City, CA 95993. Services: A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday, preceded by visitation at 2 p.m., at Lipp and Sullivan Chapel in Marysville. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 222 Clark Ave., Yuba City. Rev. Benjamin Raze will officiate.
