All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** James R. “Jimmy Ray” Due passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at his home. He was born on November 17, 1942, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, the son of Marion and Grace (Emmanuelson) Due. Jim attended Red Rock Elementary School through the 6th grade and graduated from Hobart High School in 1961. He enlisted in the Army Reserves. He then attended Oklahoma State University. On April 11, 1964, Jim married Jeretta George in Purcell, Oklahoma. Together they raised two sons. Jim moved from Oklahoma City to McAlester in 1973. He owned and operated Lucil’s Dress Shoppe until 1975 when he went to work at The Bank NA of McAlester. Jim was employed there for 12 years as a Vice President and Loan Officer. Upon retiring in 1995, Jim joined the ERA Lake Eufaula Real Estate Co., Inc as a Broker Associate. He was Broker of Abide Realtors from 1978 thru 1986. He considered this a family tradition, as his father Marion Due was one of the first Brokers to come to Lake Eufaula by way of Abide Realtors. Jim was recognized nationally by ERA as a top producer and with the help of Jim, ERA Lake Eufaula Real Estate was ranked consecutively in the top 200 offices for number of transactions out of 3,500 offices. Jim served the McAlester and Eufaula areas in many community and civic organizations. He served as President to the Southeast Association of Realtor for two years along with other positions throughout the years. On May 7, 2003, Jim married Diana Lynn Wilson in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They worked together and enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren. They also enjoyed their time on the lake boating and fishing. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eufaula. Survivors include: his wife, Diana, of the home; his sons, Jeffery Paul Due and wife Kerri of Edmond, James Eric Due and wife Iva of Arpelar and Kevin Brian Roach of Guthrie; his brother, Jack Due and wife Ladonna of Yukon; his grandchildren, Katie Peters, Lydia Due, Luke Roach, Lane Roach and Grace Due; and his nephews, Chad, B.J. and Tyler. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Marion Jake Due and Grace Ina Due. Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 10, 2006, at the Eufaula First Baptist Church with Fred Wendel and Gil Steidley officiating. Services are under the direction of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s name at the Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home, 401 N.
