He was 91. He was born Aug. 14, 1911, to Edward Dewes Oldfield Sr. and Edith L. Baird in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Classen High School in 1929 and then attended OCU where he was a member of Lambda Chi fraternity. A longtime hobby of his was HAM radio on which his call letters were WSAYL. He met Cinnie B. Harrold and they married Sept. 1, 1934. In 1946, he joined his wife and her mother, Della M. Harrold, in owning and operating Harrold Shoes Inc. and maintained the family business until he retired in 1975. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Baird Oldfield and John O ldfield, and a sister Clarabell Peter. He is survived by his wife of 68 years; daughters, Karen L. Powell and Dee O. Gower, both of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Richard D. Hall, Chief Gower and his wife Lisa, DeWes L. Merchant and her husband Ben, Melodee L. Baker and her husband Robert, Skip Gower and his wife Amy, Lucinda Vrieze and her husband Roelof; and 16 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at the Hahn-Cook/Street and Draper Chapel with burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. The family would like to thank Odyssey Hospice, the Thompson family and all the wonderful caregivers at Bellevue Nursing Center.
