She was 100. Her funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, in the First Christian Church chapel with the Rev. Kent Dorsey, pastor, officiating. Casket bearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Trout Funeral Home. Edna was born Oct. 28, 1902, near Stillwater, the daughter of George and Leota Woods Wood. She was raised and attended school in Perry, graduating in the class of 1921. On April 5, 1922, she married Ralph Vernon McKay in Pawnee. She had been a member of the First Christian Church for over 65 years and belonged to 55 and older, AARP, and the Joy Club. She extensively traveled in the United States and Europe, and loved gardening and doing crafts. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Ralph McKay Jr. and his wife Mary Ann, and Donald W. McKay and his wife Billie, all of Ponca City, five grandchildren, Sandra Henderson, Monte McKay, Michael McKay, Stephen McKay and Cindy Morrison, eight great-grandchildren, Brad Streeter, Machelle Peterson, Mark McKay, Kaycee Henderson, Kimberley McKay, Hilary McKay, Michael Morrison and Paige Morrison, and three great-great-grandchildren, Angela McKay, Sarah Streeter and Jacob Streeter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1975; three sisters, Elizabeth Newton, Georgia Engles, and Jane Wood; one brother, Jasper "Jap" Wood, and two granddaughters, Kristin McKay Streeter and Anna Louise McKay.
