She was 89. Her funeral has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6 in the Newkirk First United Methodist Church with the Rev. James C. Hollifield officiating. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery, Pryor, OK. Miller- Stahl Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Scott will lie in state at the funeral home Friday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Elizabeth Francis Scott was born July 12, 1912 in Pryor, OK, the daughter of Tib and Lydia Williams. She grew up and attended school in Pryor. On Jan. 11, 1928 she and Robert Andrew Scott were married in Wagner, OK. They established their first home in the Pryor area where they lived until 1937 when they moved to Grainola, OK. They farmed in the Grainola area for a number of years before moving to Newkirk in 1969. She served for several years as school cafeteria director in Grainola and Newkirk. Mr. Scott died March 16, 1998. Elizabeth was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and the UMW. She was also a member of the Bois d'Arc Club, the Golden Agers Card Club, the Grant Card Club and the Over 60 Club. She enjoyed quilting. She is survived by one son and his wife, Ellis B. and Shirley Scott of Albuquerque; her grandchildren, Donette Wagner of Albuquerque, Dacia and Rick Roberts of San Antonio and Steven Ellis Scott of Albuquerque; and three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Lois Roberts attending Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA, Chad Eldon Wagner attending the University of New Mexico and Ellis Jeffery Roberts, a high school student in San Antonio, TX. In addition to her husband Bob, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters. Those serving as casket bearers will be Bill Birdwell, Keith Birdwell, Larry Gross, Terry Teague, Robert Kirkpatrick and Chad Wagner. Honorary bearers are Jack Haney, Johnny Means, Chris Vap, David Vap and Curtis Vap. A memorial fund has been established with the First United Methodist Church.
