She was 88. The daughter of Christian and Christina Roehl Borth, she was born Nov. 8, 1914 in Bessie, OK. While an infant she moved with her family to the Granite area where she grew up, and received her early education. After high school graduation she attended college in Chickasha, and later in California and Colorado. She earned the Bachelor of Music Education Degree, the Master of Arts Degree and the Doctorate of Music Education Degree. Borth's teaching career included schools in Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma. She moved to Kay County in 1956. While teaching in Blackwell, she presented many wonderfully unique Christmas programs. A member of St. John's Lutheran Church, she enjoyed traveling and had traveled over the United States and abroad. She was a voracious reader and gave generously to many different charities. She was also a good cook. She is survived by several nephews and neices. Her parents, three brothers, the Rev. Reinholdt Borth, Herbert Borth, and Emil Borth, and two sisters, Maria Graumann and Amelia Felter preceded her in death. The funeral is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27 in St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ernest Quillen officiating. A graveside service is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in the Lutheran Cemetery, Granite, OK. Family and friends will serve as casket bearers. A memorial fund has been established with Habitat for Humanity.
