All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm =================================================================== Francis Clayton 'Sundown' Aynes "Francis Clayton 'Sundown' Aynes of Ponca City, died Tuesday evening at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. He was 77. "Born May 16, 1910 in Carnerio, Kan., he moved with his family to Tusk- ahoma, Okla. in 1919, and then to the Ponca City area in 1930. He at- tended Marland High School. "Mr. Aynes began working for Continental Oil Company in April 1940, and at the time of his retirement in July 1962, he worked in TCD No. 3 as a combination unit helper. "He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Independent Oil Workers Union. "Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John (Betty Faye) Taylor of 1024 North Pine, and Mrs. Zella Louise Wortham of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Elwood Aynes of Ponca City and Kenneth Aynes of Brookings, Ore.; two sisters, Mrs. Idabelle Anson of Ponca City and Rachel Russell of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. "He was preceded in death by one son and one brother. "Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Thursday at the Gill-Lessert Chapel. The Rev. Charles Heyer, associate minister of the First Christ- ian Church , will officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of the Gill-Lessert Funeral Home.
