He was 81. Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Heeny-Sundquist Funeral Home of Farmington, Mich. Cecil Robert Gingerich Sr. was born in Ponca City, on Nov. 4, 1911, the second son of Alva and Allie M. (Combs) Gingerich. He graduated from Ponca City High School and then attended East Central State Teachers' College in Ada where he was on the football and wrestling teams. In 1935, he married Lucille Freeman Daugherty. He later transferred to the University of Oklahoma, earning a degree in mechanical engineering in 1942. He married Yoshiko Kimura in 1978. He worked for over 30 years for Linde Air Products, Union Carbide Corporation. He was a Master Mason and a Shriner. He was also a member of the Methodist Church.
