All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Memorial Park Cemetery--OKC OK Hall, Alvin Earl Memorial services for Alvin Earl Hall, 83, are scheduled for Wednesday, February 5th at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2003. Arrangements are under the direction of Guardian West Funeral Home. The service will follow a family burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. Alvin Hall was born May 5, 1919, in Weston, West Virginia, to J.W.P. and Willa Douglass Hall. He moved to Pawhuska, Oklahoma, when he was five years old and grew up on the Osage Agency Campus. He received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma A & M where he was on their golf team. In 1942, he married Martha Sue Gray. Mr. Hall began his professional career with Alcoa in Nashville, Tennessee. He then worked for Phillips Petroleum Company in Odessa, Texas, and Bartlesville, Oklahoma. In 1955, he moved to Oklahoma City to begin employment with Sohio Petroleum Company where he attained the position of Chief Engineer until retiring in 1982. He was an active member and served as president of the Oklahoma City Chapter of Society of Petroleum Engineers. Mr. Hall was a committed and faithful member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon, Elder and Session Clerk. He LOVED the game of golf! He also enjoyed riding horses, operating HAM radios, traveling, and square dancing. After retirement, he volunteered at Presbyterian Hospital and served Mobile Meals. Alvin Hall was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a true gentleman with a heart of gold and a quick smile. Mr. Hall's family would like to thank Mrs. Fran Gomez and her assistants for their quality and loving care during his illness. Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Sue, and their three children and families: Sylvia and Gary Cross, Tracy, California - Kristi and Brian Schmidt, Jeannie and Jeff Cross, Stacey and Scott Cross, Kathy Cross; Alyson and Dr. Ron Richards, Wimberley, Texas - Jennifer and Will Richards, Luke Richards; Kathy and Doug Hall, Edmond, Oklahoma - Wes Hall, Stacy and Jason Walker. Mr. Hall is also survived by 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother and wife, Edward and Nan; his sister, Nancy; and his granddaughter, Bonnie Clare Richards.
