Shrubshall LAMONT - Hazel E. Shrubshall, lifelong Lamont-Pond Creek area resident, died Sunday, July 7, 1996, in the Cherry Creek Nursing Home in Wichita, Kan. She was 91. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, in the Wilson Funeral Home chapel in Pond Creek, with the Rev. Lynn Bond officiating. A graveside service will also follow in the Lamont (Okla.) Cemetery with the Rev. Ruth Tipps officiating. Hazel E. (Black) Shrubshall was born June 14, 1905, in Lamont, the daughter of Arthur Elmer and Nettie Ann (Moree) Black. She grew up in Lamont and graduated from high school there. She was married to W.E. "Ernie" Shrubshall on Aug. 21, 1924, in Enid and they made their home on a farm near Lamont. Mrs. Shrubshall was active in the Lamont First Christian Church, Order of Eastern Star, Rich Valley Home Demonstration Club, and was a 50 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She moved to Cherry Creek Nursing Home in Wichita, in 1994. Survivors include two sons, Dwaine of Wichita and Lowell of Winfield, Kan.; one daughter, Norma Ann Fitts of Pond Creek; one brother, Harold Black of Lamont; two sisters, Moree Olson of Tonkawa and Fern Snyder of Ponca City; 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
