We are here for awhile, and then we are gone. Billee was born in Ponca City, OK. Shortly after, her mother, Mimi Leona Mae Frazier Wells, father, Bill Hurley Wells, and sister, Jeoneta Wells Walters moved to Hutchinson, Kansas where Billee went through grade school and high school. She went to Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri before falling in love with Richard Steinbeck. With Dick, she bore three children, Shari McKinney, Sam-e S. Del Tour, and Scott Lee Steinbeck. From the three, Shari bore Rachelle Perez and Alycia Gamble with Otto McKinney. Scott L. Steinbeck sired Scott Anthony Steinbeck with Kathy Valadez Steinbeck. Grandchildren include Dustin, Karissa, Kayla, Vaughn, Tyler and Brooklyn. Billee worked as a secretary for Seldon Morley and Eldon Hugie. Later she worked for and retired from State Farm Insurance. She owned and operated The Gunne Sak, a women's dress shop with her children, Shari and Sam-e. In 1973 Billee married David O. Henthorne. They spent 33 years together before Billee went to be with the Lord. Alycia would like to say: "Billee was the epitome of strength and elegance in a woman. She spent the majority of her effort trying to care for and brighten the lives of her children and grandchildren." Alycia A memorial service will be held Friday, November 10th, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel, officiated by Fr. Michael Gilton.
