She was 85. The daughter of Andrew Jackson and Gertrude Mae (Watkins) Dillow, she was born Nov. 21, 1917 in Kaw City. She grew up on the family farm and attended Pleasant View Rural School. After finishing her education she helped her parents with their farming operation. On Nov. 21, 1935 Isal and Clarence Arthur "Speck" Pappan were married in Ponca City. The couple farmed for a number of years in the Pleasant Valley, Kaw City and Ponca City areas. In June 1991 the couple moved to the White Plume addition east of Newkirk. Mr. Pappan died Aug. 29, 1998. Mrs. Pappan remained in Newkirk until two years ago when she entered the nursing home. She enjoyed watching old movies, square dancing, pitch parties and her family. She is survived by two sons, Ronald Pappan of Richwood, MO and Ray Pappan of Stroud, OK; three daughters, Delores Phipps of Kaw City, Patricia Fox of Tulsa and Carol Nissen of Newkirk; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, one grandson and a granddaughter. A graveside service was held Saturday, Dec. 28 in the Ponca City IOOF Cemetery, Oak Grove Section with the Rev. Larry Harris, minister of the Pioneer Bible Church, Ponca City, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Miller-Stahl Funeral Service. A memorial fund has been established with Hospice of Ponca City.
