Robison Dr. Jamie L. Robison died on Monday, June 7, 1999 at his home in Tonkawa. He was 46 years of age. Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Thursday, June 10 at the First Baptist Church in Tonkawa. Presiding ministers were Rev. Richard Thomasson, First Baptist Church of Tonkawa, Rev. Max Colaw, Bartlesville, and Rev. Bryan Sprung, Cedar Ridge West Wesleyan Church, Enid. Interment was at the I.O.O.F. Cemtery in Tonkawa under the direction of McCafferty-Bolick Funeral Home. Jamie Lyn Robison was born on November 25, 1952 in Enid, the son of Jack Lawrence Robison and Billie H. (Long) Robison. He grew up in a Christian home and as a member of the Wesleyan Church of Enid. He graduated from Enid High School in 1971. He was united in marriage to Rose Mary Sweatt on June 10, 1973 in Enid with the couple making their first home in Weatherford. Jamie attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University, earning a degree in Pharmacy. The couple then moved to Poteau where Jamie worked for the D&D Pharmacy. The couple then moved to Edmond where Jamie was accepted to the University of Oklahoma School of Dentistry. He graduated in June of 1981. The couple then moved to Tonkawa where they purchased the dentistry practice of Dr. Robert Carter. Dr. Robison had continued the practice over the past 18 years until ill health forced him to retire from the practice this past April. Robison served on the Tonkawa Recreation Committee, was past president of the Tonkawa Kiwanis Club, served seven years on the Tonkawa School Board, was a member of the Southwestern Pharmacy Alumni Association, the Oklahoma Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He was active throughought the years with the youth of Tonkawa and the surrounding area. He is survived by his wife, Rose Mary, of the home; his mother, Billie Robison, Enid; two daughters, Julie Robison and Emily (Robison) White and husband James, all of Tonkawa; two brothers, Rod Robison and wife Margaret of Gore, and Bruce Robison and wife Barbara of Piedmont; sister Marion Keck of Yukon; one grandson, Kobe James White of Tonkawa; his mother-in-law, Maxine Sweatt, Enid; several nieces, nephews and friends.
