She was 55. A prayer service is set for 7:30 p.m. today at the Ponca Indian Baptist Church at White Eagle. The traditional Indian feast will be held at noon Saturday, at the church, followed by the service at 2 p.m. The Rev. Ted Freeman, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ponca Indian Cemetery under the direction of Trout Funeral Home of Ponca City. Juanell (Crazybear) Pappan was born April 8, 1941, on the Ponca Reservation, the daughter of Perry and Nora (Cries For War) Crazybear and a member of the Ponca Tribe. She attended Ponca City schools. Mrs. Pappan was a member of the Ponca Indian Nazarene Church. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Amarbe Pappan Sr., of the home in White Eagle; two sons, Amarbe Jr. and Eugene, both of Ponca City; four sisters, Bernadine Roy, Norene Pappan, and Clairene Arkeketa, all of Ponca City and Mildrene Mihecoby of Fletcher; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, one brother, Ben, and one sister, Rose. Casket bearers will be Ben Arkeketa, Thomas Pappan Jr., Ben Crazybear Jr., Nathaniel Page Jr., David Eagle, and Garland Roy Pappan.
