Rodney Knight J. Rodney Knight, longtime Ponca City resident, died Monday, July 15, 1996, at his home. He was 47. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Osage Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Grider, pastor, officiating. Local arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home. No visitation will be held at the funeral home. J. Rodney Knight was born Aug. 5, 1948, in Wichita, Kan., the son of Benjamin Bembow and Louise (Palmer) Knight. He attended McCord Elementary and East Junior High Schools and was a 1966 graduate of Ponca City High School. He also attended Northern Oklahoma College. On Aug. 22, 1987, he was married to Darla Burling in Ponca City, where the couple established their home. Knight was employed as a repairman in the Conoco Refinery. He was a member of the Osage Heights Baptist Church where he taught in the Youth Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, scuba diving and reading. Survivors include his wife, Darla, of the home; two sons, Justin and Jeremy, both of Ponca City; two daughters, Joani and Trina, both of Ponca City; his mother, Louise Wilson of Ponca City; two brothers, Joe of Wichita, Kan., and John of Ponca City; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, John Knight. Memorial contributions may be made to KLVV 88.7 Love Radio Station, P.O.
