She was 74. The daughter of Pearl Marcellus and Elyse (Bibey) Hester, she was born March 19, 1926 in Montgomery County, MS. She grew up and attended school in Montgomery County. In 1944 she moved to Ponca City where she worked in Woolworth Department Store. On December 11, 1945 she married Ivan Dean Ramsey in Winfield, KS. The couple made their first home in Arkansas City, KS. They moved to California for a short time and then to Ponca City. They later moved to Kansas City for Ivan's training for nine months. The family returned to Ponca City where they have since resided. Mrs. Ramsey attended Southern Baptist Churches. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and cooking. She is survived by her husband Ivan of the home; one daughter, Deanna Hass of Ponca City; two sisters; Betty Jones of Ponca City and Norma Hutchison of Tulsa; and one grandson, Greg Kusick of Enid. Ramsey is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Harold Ivan Ramsey and one brother, Leonard Hester. The funeral was at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000 in the Miller-Stahl Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Virgil Swift, minister of Crestview Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed in Newkirk Cemetery under the direction of Miller-Stahl Funeral Service. Those serving as casket bearers were Greg Cusick, Scott Jones, Marc Hester, Charles Ramsey, Dale Koster and Danny Steele.
