Lake, 58, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2006, at a Fort Worth hospital. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Charlie was born in Ponca City, Okla. He attended Parsons Elementary and went to high school in Altmont, where he graduated in 1966. He joined the Army and went to Vietnam. Upon his discharge, he lived in Tulsa, Okla., and was employed by Lockheed Martin. After years of service, he was employed by the National Weather Service. He moved to Azle 6 1/2 years ago and had worked for the National Weather Service for the past 20 years. Charlie enjoyed his job and his co-workers. He married Lois Lake on Dec. 29, 2000. He enjoyed golf, diving, remote helicopters, camping, travel, being around family and anything fun. He especially enjoyed his Bible and Christian fellowship. Survivors: Wife, Lois of Azle; daughter, Kim Echols of Muskogee, Okla.; son, Clayton Coppin of Muskogee; mother, Gladys Lake of Parsons, Kan.; brother, Rocky Lake and his wife, Shari, of Parsons; grandchildren, Steven Ty of Montana and Bailey Jean of Muskogee; three nieces; two nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.
