Robbins TONKAWA -- Larry L. Robbins died peacefully Nov. 25, 2002. He was 53. He was born Nov. 26, 1948, in Oklahoma City to Leon and Esther Faye Merrick Robbins. Larry and Teena were married on May 11, 1973. He was a graduate of Blackwell High School and Central State University of Edmond. He started working in the electrical business at he age of 20 in Oklahoma City. He moved to Tonkawa in February 1971 to operate Webster Electric; he later purchased the business from Frank Webster in September 1972. In 1997, due to illness, he retired from business. He then went to work for Younger Electric. He worked for Jerry Younger and then for Rod Wohl. Over the years, Larry has been a member of Tonkawa Jaycees, 32nd Guthrie Scottish Rite of Guthrie, Tonkawa Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star of Tonkawa lodge, Blackwell Elks, Ponca City Bass Masters Club and the First Christian Church in Tonkawa, where he served as a deacon. Larry's hobbies were fishing and hunting with his son Jeffrey. He enjoyed riding four-wheelers, motorcycles and doing family activities. Survivors include his wife Teena; three daughters, Jennifer, Tara and Sherry; a son, Jeffrey; and a grandson, Bryce Allen; his mother, Faye of Yukon; two sisters, Debbie Boatman and husband Bryan of Yukon and their children, Chris of Norfolk, Va., and Brooke, and Barbara Lathrop and her husband Bob of Carrolton, Texas; his aunt, Lois and Bill Hubbard of Shawnee. The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the First Christian Church in Tonkawa with the Revs. John Bartlett, Richard Thomasson and Ray Paschen officiating. Burial will be at Tonkawa IOOF with Masonic Rite under the direction of Anderson Funeral Home of Tonkawa.
