Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Grandview Cemetery in Kaw City, Okla. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. LaRue was born May 20, 1930, in Denoya, Okla., and lived in Borger since 1985. He lived all over West Texas. He was an operator for Phillips Petroleum at the Kerr McGee Uranium Mines and served on the USS Hamner in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Ray loved the outdoors: hunting, fishing, and was an avid gardener all his life, even after the amputation of his leg. He was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Elizabeth LaRue; a sister Lorene Earp; three brothers, Rex, Warren, and Billy Joe LaRue; and a grandson Chad. Survivors include three daughters, Rhonda Batterman and husband Danny of Borger, Pam Wadley and husband Courtney of Enid, Okla., and Anita Miller and husband Dennis of Greeley, Colo.; three sisters, Betty Edmondson of Grants, N.M., Erma Schrivner of Plano, and Emma Nichols of Claremore, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Maegan, Nikki, Chereé, Cresenda, Chris and Danielle; and 10 great-grandchildren.
