"Bill" Ledbetter, 91, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Penrod, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Ledbetter was born Jan. 3, 1912, in Dallas. He was a 1930 graduate of Oak Cliff High School in Dallas and received a bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University in 1934. He married Elaine Walker on June 26, 1942, in Tonkawa, Okla. He coached football and taught math and science at high schools in Milford, Canton, St. Jo, and Blackwell, Okla. He was a high school football and basketball official. He worked for Skelly Oil from 1942 until 1977, retiring as personnel administrator. He was very active in First United Methodist Church, having served as chairman of the finance committee and administrative board. He was chairman of the house and grounds committee for 16 years. He was a member of WinSome Sunday school class for several years and was a member of the Men's Fellowship Class. He was a member and past president of Pampa Rotary Club and Knife and Fork Club. He was a volunteer for Pampa Meals on Wheels. He organized Skel-Tex Credit Union. He was preceded in death by his wife on May 8, 2002. Survivors include a cousin, Leonard Sullivan of Waxahachie; and his caregivers, Maria Vasquez, Emma Trejo and Kelly Collins, all of Pampa. The family suggests memorials be to Pampa Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 939, Pampa, TX 79066-0939; WinSome-Fellowship Sunday school class in care of First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1981, Pampa, TX 79066-1981.
