All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED The Mountain Enterprise Frazier Park, California Friday, 10 June 2005 Rosaline 'Rosie' Lenke September 26, 1919 - May 31, 2005 After a long and courageous battle with her illness, Rosie Lenke passed away peacefully on May 31, 2005. 'Rosie' was born Rosaline Anna Summer on September 26, 1919 in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She came to California in 1945. She married her husband, Howard, in Temple City, California on September 18, 1949. She and Howard moved to Frazier Park in 1951. Howard and Rosie shared over 50 years of married life in Frazier Park. During this time, Rosie was active in the Frazier Park Community Baptist Church for 25 years. She served as Sunday School Secretary most of that time. Later, Rosie attended the Church of Christ. She was also active in Camp Fire Girls, Boy Scouts, P.T.A., Mothersingers, Trowel & Sceptre Club and the Greater Frazier Park Chamber of Commerce. Rosie also served on the Kern County Election Board as an inspector of the Frazier Park precinct for over 30 years. Rosie will also be remembered for serving as the "Mayor of Fiesta Days" in 1984. Rosie's survivors include her husband, Howard, her daughter, Ila Martin, Bakersfield, her son, Larry Lenke, Cedar Crest, New Mexico, her son, Mark Lenke, Frazier Park. She also leaves eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition, she leaves so many dear friends and relatives. Her granddaughter, Deena Kae Hager, Bakersfield, and her son Brice Gerald Lenke, preceded Rosie in death. 'Rosie's Corner' was a feature of The Mountain Enterprise for over 20 years. She wished to express her sincere thanks to all who enjoyed her 'Corner.' If her contributions had brought positive thoughts, then her life was not in vain. Her wish was that you carry on, look up, laugh, live and enjoy! The family wishes to thank Dr. Young Park and staff, Dr. Mukhopadhyay and staff at the Comprehensive Blood and Cancer Center, R.N. Patty Newer, Tiffany Porter and everyone at Optimal Hospice for the care and kindness given to Rosie. A special Memorial for Rosie Lenke will be held at a later date this month.
