She was 90. A graveside service was held at 11 am Saturday in the Newkirk Cemetery with Danny W. Cornish, minister of the Newkirk Church of Christ officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Miller-Stahl Funeral Service. Leona Lane Hunt was born July 21, 1908 near Kildare, the daughter of William and Oris (Hastings) Keen. She attended school at Fairview Rural School and graduated from Kildare High School. On March 29, 1930 she and Alva Lane were married and made their home at Ponca City. They later moved to the Bois d'Arc community west of Ponca City where she owned and operated Leona's Tourist Court. On January 8, 1959 she and Dallas W. Hunt were married at Perry, and in 1965 they moved to Arkansas City. Mr. Hunt died September 11, 1985. Mrs. Hunt returned to Ponca City in 1989 where she has since resided. She was a longtime member of the Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by a stepdaughter, Mary Ann Wall of Redding, California; one brother, Cecil T. Keen of Ponca City; and several nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Dilver, Wilber, Loris and Orville; and four sisters, Hazel, Mary, Velma, and Lavera. *********************************************************************** copyright USGenwb 2003 http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ***********************************************************************
