The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/kay/kay.html http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** Submitted to the archives by:Claudia Thiry, workfarm@kskc.net Date submitted: 3/12/2003 Transcribed from the Ponca City News, http://www.poncacitynews.com/ *********************************************************************** Meghan Elizabeth Elk On July 13, 1996, Meghan Elizabeth Elk, born Dec. 21, 1978, beloved daughter of David Elk, of Oklahoma City and Jilda Elk of Tulsa; sister of Carolyn Elk, of Lawrence, Kan.; granddaughter of John Elk and Travis and Rita Gordy, all of Ponca City; niece of Melinda and Dr. Bill Corporon with whom she lived in Marlow; Barbara and Jeff Fox of Ponca City; Dena and Kent Berquist of Salina, Kan.; and John and Claude Elk, of Oakland, Calif.; and cousin to Tony Corporon of Marlow; Mindy Underwood, of Kansas City; Will Corporon of Grove; and Shannon, Erin and Eileen Berquist, all of Salina, Kan.; was instantly enfolded with God, whom she served. Meghan was a gentle, kind, compassionate young woman whose early promise cannot now be fulfilled. Meghan Elk was a member of the Duncan (Okla.) High School Class of 1997. She will be sorely missed and long remembered by those whose lives she touched. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the First United Methodist Church, Ponca City, with the Rev. Denny Hook, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Kenneth Armstrong, rector, Grace Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery under the direction of the Trout Funeral Home, Ponca City. Memorial contributions may be made in Meghan's name to: Shepherd's Fold Ranch, P.O.
