She was 80 years of age. A graveside service was held at 10 am on Tuesday, April 6 in the Newkirk Cemetery with Rev. John Tramel, minister of the Newkirk First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Miller-Stahl Funeral Service. Mary Elizabeth Beck was born October 7, 1918 east of Kildare, the daughter of George and Charlotte (Gabriel) Williams. She grew up in the rural area and attended Lone Elm Rural School and Kildare School. She was a graduate of Ponca City High School. During WWII she worked for Douglas Aircraft Plant. Later she attended a business school in Tulsa. She worked as a secretary in Tulsa for a number of years, her last employment being with an oil company. After her retirement she lived in several areas before moving to Rockdale in 1987. She was a member of the Kildare United Methodist Church. She was well thought of by her many friends in the senior citizens complex where she resided. She is survived by one sister, Ruth Hayes of Decatur, Texas and several nephews and nieces.
