She was 93. Harden was born May 23, 1909, on the family farm in Kay County, the daughter of Samuel Houston Mounce and Daisy Victoria Kirkendahl Mounce. She attended Kay County schools and graduated from Blackwell High School. She then graduated from Oklahoma A&M, now Oklahoma State University. She married William Thomas Harden on May 8, 1932, in Turley, OK. She was a homemaker and also was employed as a sales clerk for Miller's Shoe Store and later as a switchboard operator for Farmers Alliance Insurance Company and Memorial Hospital, all in McPherson, KS. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of McPherson and of the Circle of the Church. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Ronald D. Harden of Loveland, CO, and Warren D. Harden of Norman, OK; a sister, Gussie Mae Mason of Wichita, KS; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Walter K. Mounce and Jesse Mounce. The funeral was held Dec. 26 at the First Baptist Church in McPherson with the Rev. Les Cantrell officiating.
