All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Emerald Hills Memorial Park--Kennedale TX Rutherford, Lucille Cora "Lou" Lucille Cora Rutherford, 74, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, Oct. 9, 2005, at a local hospice after a short battle with pancreatic cancer, with both her daughters and their husbands by her side. Memorial service: A service celebrating Lou's life and family was held Saturday, Nov. 19, at Wade Funeral Home in Arlington. Interment was in Emerald Hills Memorial Park, Kennedale, which included the presentation and installation of a large set of wind chimes in Lou's honor. Additionally, a reception continuing the memorial celebration for the family and all guests was held afterwards at daughter Sandi's home in Arlington. Memorials: For anyone wishing to express their condolences, the family requests that donations be made in Lou's honor to Vitas Hospice Care Unit, Baylor All Saints Hospital, Third Floor, Building C, 1400 8th Ave., Fort Worth, Texas, 76104. Lou was born Jan. 19, 1931, in Ponca City, Okla., the oldest of four children born to Jefferson and Irene Rutherford. After becoming a Baptist minister, Lou's father, Jeff, moved the family to Espinola, N.M., where she graduated from high school. For the next several years after graduation, she spent time in both San Francisco, Calif., and Dallas as a runway model before returning to New Mexico to live in Albuquerque, where she married and had two daughters. In 1971, Lou moved with her family to Arlington, where she worked in real estate in various capacities until her retirement a few years ago. Lou was preceded in death by her parents Jeff and Irene Rutherford of Albuquerque, nephew Ronnie Rutherford of Las Vegas, and niece Erica Rutherford of Atlanta, Georgia. Survivors: Lou, or Grandee as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren, is survived by her daughters, Sandi Ray and husband, Mike, of Arlington and Tarie Johnson and husband, Steve Stouffe, of Lewisville; grandchildren, Kaylah Key and husband, Josh, Shane Johnson, Stephanie Stouffe and Garrett Stouffe, all of Louisville, and Kyle Ray and Shane Ray of Arlington; her brothers and their families, Jimmie Rutherford and wife, Nona, of McKinney, John Rutherford and wife, Barbara, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Paul Rutherford and wife, Susie, of Las Vegas, Nev.; niece, Laurie Haese and husband, Tim, and daughter, Hannah, of Plano; nephews, Randy Rutherford and wife, Leigh, and daughter, Emma, of Frisco, and Ryan Rutherford and wife, Tara, and Tyler Rutherford, all of Las Vegas.
